Ekta's story

Ekta Kaul is an award winning artist based in London. Her artistic practice is focused on creating narrative maps that explore places, history and belonging through stitch.

The CWIT scholarship in conjunction with another British Council Scholarship enabled me to undertake a Masters degree in 2006 at Heriot-Watt University, UK. It was a gift of time for exploring and experimenting in-depth not only with new and familiar tools and techniques but also with my creative process which ultimately led to the honing of my artistic voice.

CWIT was a springboard to my journey of being an independent artist.

This experience was important because it led to an expansion of my horizons and ignited new ways of thinking about art and making art. It brought new friendships, influences, teachers and mentors into my life who stretched and nurtured me.

You can follow Ekta on Instagram and learn more about her work and book your Masterclass here.
